A Luxurious Birthday Getaway in Turks and Caicos

We All Deserve To Splurge Once In A While

There’s nothing wrong with splurging on yourself once in a while. We work hard, we go through many challenges in life, and we all deserve to do something to make us feel special. I like to do a little extra something for my birthday, such as have a spa day, buy an extravagant gift, or my favorite thing is to go on a mini-vacation. It had been a while since I planned a birthday trip. Every year, I took at least a week off from work, intending to plan a getaway. Yet, I’d end up lounging around the house, halfway reorganizing a closet or cabinet, and feeling like it was time wasted. This year, however, I was determined to make sure I followed through with a plan to go away and make it a memorable occasion.

The Perfect Place

I knew what I wanted. Find me a white, sandy beach, beautiful blue water, semi-private, and somewhere quiet to relax. It took a couple of days to decide on my destination. The Turks and Caicos Islands had been on my bucket list for the past ten years. I avoided going there because I wanted to wait for that right moment. You know, that special occasion that never comes around? Or whenever I found that perfect person? Well, this birthday was no milestone, but it was another year that I was alive and healthy. That was good enough for me. I was finally beginning to realize that it was time to stop waiting for the right moment or person and start living. Looking back, I can’t tell you how many opportunities I’ve missed waiting.

Luxury And More

I booked a three-night, four-day stay at Wymara Resort and Villas, a luxurious beachfront resort on Providenciales. Upon my arrival, the staff graciously welcomed me and guided me into the open-air reception area, where I was seated to complete the registration. Caribbean music played through the overhead speakers as I sipped on my complimentary welcome drink, their signature rum punch. I relaxed and took in the ambiance, the marble floor, the palm trees, and the infinity pool in front of me. I knew I was in for a fantastic experience!

My room had the most luxurious amenities; an ocean view, a whirlpool tub, and fine linen. However, I wasn’t expecting one particular surprise. The hotel left a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate cake in celebration of my birthday. I knew I made the right choice and looked forward to the rest of my stay.

Relaxation At Its Best

I had no plans to go on any excursions while there. This Turk and Caicos getaway was going to be one of those relaxing, lay-on-the-beach-while-sipping-piña-coladas kind of trips.  Yes, that was me for the next couple of days; watching sunsets, listening to the ocean waves, and appreciating moments of peace and tranquility. The resort was all I needed to enjoy my time.

In the mornings, I headed down to one of the two restaurants for my complimentary breakfast buffet. I indulged in the fresh fruit, waffles, and even the salt fish, one of their tasty local dishes. In just a few steps to the beach, the attendants greeted me to set up my chair and umbrella, and I spent the day alternating between basking in the sun and swimming in the beautiful blue sea. In the afternoon, as the bartender made his rounds, I enjoyed a piña colada or two. What a wonderful life!

After dinner, I spent the evenings watching the most amazing sunsets on the beach. I must have taken hundreds of pictures of the sky as I walked along the shore.

All Good Things Must Come To An End

On the last evening, it rained. However, it didn’t stop me from enjoying a delicious dinner at the resort’s upscale restaurant, Stelle. I indulged in the amazing cuisine and even had my dessert sent to my room for later.

Although the trip came to an end, I have memories to last a lifetime. There were moments of ocean breezes, colorful sunsets, and peace and tranquility to remember for a lifetime. Most of all, knowing that I had one of the most fulfilling experiences to remember without ever having to leave the resort…priceless!
