Relax At This Hostel In A Private Room With Amazing Views

Hey friends, this post relates to a trip from a few years ago. However, the information is still accurate! I thought I’d share the information because it’s still very much worth it!

While traveling in my fifties, I never imagined I’d consider staying in a hostel! However, having an itinerary that included multiple cities in a short period (Valencia-Barcelona-Nice-Berlin-Laubach-Frankfurt-Rome-Madrid – yes, I was on a mission!), I needed to cut costs at some point during my journey. So, when searching for a hostel, I searched for only ones with private rooms, and boy, did I get lucky with this one!

I wanted to be near the Old Town in Valencia, Spain, because that is the area I wanted to visit most. There is something I love about old towns – learning the history, admiring the architecture,  or just the old town feel. Wherever I travel, I look forward to visiting the old town neighborhoods.

Where I Stayed

Purple Nest Hostel, located in the center of Valencia, Spain, offers private rooms with and without shared bathrooms for a little over 50 euros (approximately 55 USD) per night.

My private room was on the top floor, and I shared a small kitchenette and bathroom (and I pretty much had the space to myself!). The hostel is near several shops and restaurants and offers free walking tours such as visits to the Ciutat Vella (the Old Town). You can read about one of my walking experiences through the old town here!

The best feature of my room was the large private rooftop terrace. With a nearly panoramic view of the city, I spent mornings and evenings sitting outside enjoying the scenery!

For the price, this was a good experience for my first time staying in a hostel. As for the rest of my journey, I stayed in another hostel in Berlin. I booked a single room, and it was immaculate! However, I’ll never forget the views in Valencia!

    Good day Len,
Thank you for sharing these beautiful pictures. I can see that you really enjoyed yourself. Maybe one day, I will visit Valencia Spain. I too like history and learning about different cultures.

    Blessings,
    Michael
