While many welcomed 2025 with fireworks over familiar skylines, I found myself in Seychelles, taking in the quiet beauty of a new year dawning over the Indian Ocean. This archipelago of dreams had lingered on my bucket list for years, and as part of my East African journey, I finally stepped onto its powder-white beaches. The natural beauty was even more stunning in person – clear waters in deep shades of blue, granite boulders sculpted by time, and lush hills that whispered stories of ancient mariners.

Life has a way of slipping through our fingers like grains of sand, and my time in Seychelles reminded me that sometimes we need to stop waiting for the “perfect moment” and simply take the leap. This past year taught me that our most precious currency is time, not the numbers in our bank accounts. As I dive into 2025, I’m carrying this island wisdom with me – to chase dreams while they’re still within reach, to say “yes” to adventures that call my name. Speaking of adventures, my travels continue to inspire my children’s books (you can find them in my shop at travelcolorrepeat.com), and I’ve got some exciting new stories brewing. Here’s to another year of collecting moments, not things. Stay tuned for what’s next!
