My Coronavirus Survival Guide

I’ve been creating my blog for several months now. What began as a personal hobby has grown into my passion to inspire others in learning that life after fifty does not have to be about getting old and slowing down. This new chapter is about rejuvenation, feeling great, and trying new things, and as I explore the world, I share my experiences as a solo traveler. However, with the recent pandemic, and travel restrictions in place, for obvious reasons, my plans have been placed on hold. Of course, I’m in no rush to go anywhere until we are all assured that we’re safe from this virus. So what does an aspiring travel blogger do in her spare time to keep herself motivated and encouraged? Create a Coronavirus Survival Guide to keep myself busy with routine and positive habits.

Here’s my daily survival guide:

Fit Body Boot Camp In The Morning

Fortunately, thanks to Zoom, I can still work out in the mornings at home. It’s so convenient. I just use my iPad to sign in, and my instructor is coaching me live from his studio. Check out the the new exercise mat I ordered. It easily rolls up in the corner of the room at the end of the session. No excuses for working out in this house!

Getting Fully Dressed

I’ve never been one to stay in pajamas all day. To avoid falling into a rut, especially with so much sad news going on, keeping up with grooming habits is a must. It lifts the spirits and keeps up the motivation.

Eating Healthy

I still love rocky road ice cream and a slice of cheesecake now and then, but maintaining a healthy diet as much as possible is paramount. Here’s a bonus, now that I’m home all day, I can drink lots of water!

I Write, and Write, and Write

Writing is so therapeutic for me! If I’m not creating a new blog post, I’m working on ideas for a new book.

Improving My Spanish

This is a big help, although I could use a partner to practice with conversation. I’ll get there!

One Good Netflix Movie Before Bed

Before bed, I try to get through one movie (usually I fall asleep midway). Check out my list of international movies here.

Reaching Out To Loved Ones

It’s important to keep in touch with our family and friends. With social distancing, some may be isolated and unable to receive visits. Communication keeps everyone in good spirits!

Staying Positive

My mantra! We know we’re going to get through this. So let’s all try to stay positive. Listen to some music, dance, do what makes you happy. Most of all, stay safe, friends!
